MP does the bear SKEENA CANADIAN AlI- liance MP Andy Burton has joined the kermade cavalcade, In a statement made in the House of Commons Oct. 20, Burton urged his fellow MPs to support the bid to make the north- west’s very own white bear the emblem of the 2010 Winter Olympics. “This bear, known as Moksgm’ol” by the Tsimshian people, is not an albino but actually a genetic while colour phase of the black bear. Found only in northwestern B.C. this animal would make a perfect mascot for the Vancouver/Whistler winter games,” said Burton. A group of local residents devoted large amounts of their free time this year to fixing up the area's original cemetery at the top of the hill on the Kalum Lake Road that over- looks Skeena Sawmills and the Skeena River. Paulette McCulloch, left, Yvonne Moen, centre, and Bud Kirkaldy, right, are part of the group. The city has installed benches, head stones have been cleaned up, brush has been cleared away. and grave locations have been identified. The cemetery also has a special section containing many of the area’s de- ceased velerans. More improvements are planned at the location. * You're over 65 years of age * You have a chronic illness If you're in an at-risk category, you can get your flu shot at a local drop-in clinic: _ TERRACE Drop-in clinics ~North West Health Unit (in Auditorium) - 8412 Kalum Street Monday, Nov 3 & Tuesday, Nov 4 8:30am - 4:30pm ; Wednesday, November 5 8:30am.- 4:30pm & 6:30pm - B: sop Friday, November 7 8:30am - 4: 30pm “Monday, November 10 8:30am - 4:30pm & 6:30pm - 8:30pm Wednesday, November 12 8:30am - 4:30pm & 6:30pm - 8:30pm - 2 Friday, November 14 ~ 8:30am - 4:30pm For more information, 7 vail 260-638- 2200.
