THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM MEMORANDUM “SEP29 B. Kirk, ~ September 15, 1982 City Administrator FROM: F.E. Peters., P. Eng., City Engineer SUBJECT: Repair of Elinor Crescent and Wellington Street - Public Works Committee, September 14, 1982 RECOMMENDATION: That the City proceed with the repair of the sections of road damaged by broken watermains on Elinor Crescent and Wellington Street at a total cost of approximately $23,000 and nds be taken out of the Water Utility Capital Reserve Fund. BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS: We have had watermain breaks this year which have damaged two sections of Wellington Street and. a section of Elinor. Crescent. The damage is severe in places and the pavement badly warped and rolled... The cost of the repair will be quite high since the sections of the road will have to be completely reconstructed. ; Normally any patching of road associated with the repair of broken watermains would come out of the Water , Maintenance Budget. In this case, because of the high edst of repair, the Water Maintenance Budget will not be sufficient to carry the cost of the work. Since the work must be done, the Committee recommends that the funds be taken from reserve fundg in the Water Utility Capital Account. FE. Peters., p. Eng., ~~ City Engineer
