Pollock, City Administrator Attached is a memorandum from the City Engineer requesting approval of certain items in the 1973 budget. As Council is aware it has been our policy not to proceed with any major items in the budget without obtaining preliminary approval prior to the adoption of the annual budget in May. All of the items - Included in the list have been given consideration by the respective committees involved and I believe the list is self explanatory. 1 might just comment briefly on some of the items. Street Lighting This is not a request for an additional $46,900. but is a request for approvai of the regular operating budget for street lighting for the year. Last year the sum of $43,000. was budgeted. Swimming Pool Maintenance This is another operating budget item. The comparable figure for 1972 was $24,700. The balance of the items are all capital expenditure items which have been included for 1973, I would request that Council give consideration to these items and approve them in advance of final budget adoption. ยข Labour Negotiations as a function of the Regional District Attached is a letter that I have received from the Regional District raguesting reconsideration of the above mentioned topic which was discussed in 1971.
