Secondary Schools Championship for the Boys' 200 metre race and 3rd prize for the Boys’ 100 metre race and that a-:recommendation will be made by the Leisure Activities Committee for suitable recognition. Alderman Laking stated that the industrial development at McLean Avenue east of Brown Street required a berm on the south side and that the developer should be contacted to complete this. Alderman Laking asked that the Planning and Zoning Committee look into the Length of cul-de-sacs in subdivisions. Alderman Ranger advised that the C.P.R. has been the source of excessive noise in the last little while. “Moved by Alderman Ranger: Seconded by Alderman Mabbett: That a letter be written to the C.P.R. advising them of Council's concern over the increased amount of noise emanating from the Coquitlam Yards recently in the evening hours. Alderman Keryluk asked that the light at Prairie Avenue and Shaughnessy Street be changed to a blinking light during the nighttime hours and Alderman Traboulay advised the Public Works Committee will be studying this intersection further. Alderman Traboulay gave a brief report on the Federation of Canadian Municipalities Conference that he and Mayor Campbell had attended last week.
