DESPITE A VALIENT EFFORT by the All-Stars in the National Awareness Week wheelchair basketball game at Caledonia, the Kermodes came out ahead by one point Wheelchair game - - a ball! by Betty Barton In recognition of National Access Awareness Week, Terrace Parks and Recreation and the Terrace Kinsmen sponsored a noon-hour wheelchair basketball game at Caledonia Senior Secondary School. Armed with wheelchairs lent by Paul Clark, the Caledonia Kermodi Boys took on a group of Terrace celebrities. The celebrity contin- gent included RCMP officer George Nevee, TK’s Ron Lang- ridge, Gary Weiler and Doug Thompson, wheelchair athlete Dr. Paul’ Clarke; Cal principal Tom ’ Hamakawa, Robert Champoux and Parks & Rec’s Steve Scott. ‘The Kermodes won the game a close 15 to 14 against the "All-Stars",. despite many spills on both sides. - Kinsmen — co-ordinator Robert.
