ating, the business June 15. Lavesconte had been seek- ,
‘ing prospective buyers for several months. .

“First of all, -we didn’t want to see the franchise
leave town and we saw it as an opportunity and we felt
we could make the business grow and make it a viable
operation,” says Glenn Kelly.

THE Prince RupertPort Authority has awarded a$7.5 million

.. contract to Ledcor Design-Build (B.C.) Inc., for. the design _
and construction of the administration and maintenance of
' buildings at the Fairview Container Terminal.

The two-storey administration building will house the ter-

minal operators’ communications, administration and logis-

tics center, says port official Barry Bartlett.

The specialized, maintenance building will include. a
workshop, spare parts storeroom, repair and steam cleaning
bays for maintaining a large fleet of vehicles and cranes. The

facility will also include a longshoreman change rc room and ,
‘restroom facilities, and a gear storage room. -

The design and construction of the administration and
maintenance buildings is expected to be completed i in June
2007. .
