| Fall fair highlights | | talented community BEING PRESIDENT of the Skeena Valley Fall Fair keeps Jean Hamer so busy, she can’t even pinpoint her’ favourite fair event. “My favourite event used’ to be the show sheep,” says Hamer... “But” being . presi- dent, I’m just busy making sure everything is going fine.” _ Hamer’s association with _ the fair began about 12 years . ago when she. began volun- teering as part of the 4H. President for last. year’s. fair, the 75-year-old had hoped to scale back her du- _ ties as vice-president. That only .lasted half. a year, though, as the new president moved to Prince George. Though . understaffed, _ -with seven volunteers . at “most helping out, the show _ must go on.
