The Easter Bunny hada little

help last weekend when volun-.
teers distributed Easter eggs. to.
the . Mills Memorial Hospital,

Terraceview Lodge and a num-

ber of group homes in the area. |

ming took care of distribution —

with a fire truck and all the ex-

citement of the siren and.

flashing lights for some of the
younger recipients.

As well as MMH and Terrace-
view, Easter goodies were de-
livered to three group homes for
the mentally handicapped, the
Osborne Guest Home, K’San
House, the children’s respite
home and the Willows Apart-
ments. —

‘She says it began about. five

years ago when the Woolworths
Manager at the time, John Van-

derfluit, phoned the fire depart-

ment to see if they could find a
place for the store’s leftover
Easter candy. Flemming took
that call and he says the idea just
‘took off’’.

Flemming says that Overwai-
tea and Safeway joined the pro-
ject this year and their only
comment was that they wished

. they had known about it before. -

study was commissioned to re-

view ways in which the site could

be re-used. But if history were to
repeat itself here, their experi-
ence may allow for some ad-
vanced planning that could turn
