Hyde Creek Expansion - Waterslide
(Parks & Recreation Committee Meeting - June 7, 1994)

1. That the tender to supply and install the water slide be awarded to White Water West in
the amount of $141,903.00

2. That a change order be issued to Dual Mechanical for the plumbing and related piping in
the amount of $11,917.00

‘Tender package number five closed on May 3, 1994. White Water West's tender was the
only one received regarding the water slide Unfortunately there is only one company in
Canada that supplies waterslides and because of this it is very difficult to receive a
-" competitive bid. We endeavoured to find another supplier but we were unsucessful.
The water slide was originally pulled from the tender report that was sent to Council as it
- was substantially over budget. Since that time, the Project Manager has contacted the
- supplier and is able to get a more favourable price without compromising the product.

The original budget for the waterside, the pump and related piping is $144,450. The
contract award is $9,370. over the estimated budget. However, we are well within the
overall construction budget for the project.
