January 25, 1988/023 Mr. Andrew R. Wodelet, 786 Wright Avenue, referred to traffic problems at the intersection of Cedar Drive and Prairie Avenue and advised that the crowding of Cedar Drive School was readily apparent from the existence of school portables. Mrse L. Walton, 3450 Handley Crescent, inquired whether liaison existed between the School Board and the City and suggested that in her opinion the RM~3 development proposed did not fit in with the rest of the neighborhood. She also referred to the need for a plan of the entire area. Mr. G. Schuster, 3178 Rae Street, inquired whether access to the development would be from Prairie Avenue, Freemont Street or Rae Street. Director of Community Planning W.A. Brown, advised that Rae Street had always been planned as a collector route and was so shown on the City's plans. Mrs. Judy Salamandyk, 845 Prairie Avenue, advised that she had counted an average of 27 trucks a day passing her property on Prairie Avenue and that most of these were exceeding the speed limit and she felt that the children were not safe on Prairie Avenue. Mr. K. Gianakos, 847 Wright Avenue, advised that to the best of his knowledge the construction of Freemont Street had been proposed by the City for at least 13 years and he inquired when it would be constructed. Mrs. Judy Wright, 3371 Hemlock Crescent, referred to the ever increasing truck traffic in the area. =m Mr. Tom Ewen, 351 Laurier Avenue, referred to ever increasing traffic and to drainage problems in the area and expressed surprise that the RM-3 development was thought to be a buffer to the proposed through traffic on Freemont Street. Mr. S. Innes, 3195 Rae Street, drew Council's attention to the fact that properties in the Handley Crescent area had access to Freemont Street and he inquired whether it was then necessary to prevent this particular development from having driveway access to Freemont Street. Mr. Ted Koemsted, 3311 Handley Crescent, suggested that the entire proposal be delayed until a North East Sector Plan to which His Worship Mayor Traboulay had earlier referred was completed. Mr. Greg Moulds, 3515 Handley Crescent, asked for the recommendations of the Director of Community Planning for RM-3 development for this area and Mr. Brown replied. Mr. Greg Schuster, 3178 Rae Street, inquired as to the driveway arrangement and open space provided in the RM~-3 portion of the development. Mr. L. Barnett, 3186 Rae Street, advised that in his opinion the RM-3 portion of the development proposed should be deleted and the entire area planed for single family development.
