I should also point out that services to children and adolescents are the focus of a separate internal planning exercise within my Division at this time, and will not impact the resources available for the improvement of the mental health care system for adults and the elaerly. Next Steps in the Planning Process In view of the great response to the planning process so far, and in order to provide time for serious review and discussion of this material, the original target dates for completion have been extended, and your considered responses are requested by the end of January, 1986, Once again Mental Health Services staff will be coordinating these responses in various areas of the province and will be soliciting your input in this regard. I would appreciate your feedback on the consensus areas, as well as on the questions for further discussion, and would encourage you to make your views known using the same response mechanism as before. We have treated all written submissions received to date on a confidential basis, but would very much like to make them available on request to assist in promoting a better understanding of the views of various individuals and groups throughout the mental health - system. Please advise me by December 31st {f you object to the use of your submission in this regard. I would Tike to assure you that the detailed service ana facility planning which must occur before the implementation of the broad Conceptual plan we are developing, will be a high priority activity once Cabinet approval has been received, and will be undertaken in the same spirit of consultative planning at the regional and local evels. Yours sincerely, BE, Brian D. Coley Executive Director Mental Health Services Attachments
