The Inaugural Ceremonies and Statutory Meeting of the Municipal
Council of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam were held in
the Gymnasium of the Hyde Creek Recreation Centre, 1379 Laurier Avenue,
Port Coquitlam, B.C. on December 5th, 1983 at 8:00 pam.

His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay, Aldermen M.C. Farnworth, M.D.
Gates, J.J. Keryiuk, G.R. Laking, W.W. Stewart, M.R. Wright and
retiring Alderman D.J. Vater in attendance,

Also in attendance were Chief Administrative Officer B.R. Kirk,
City Clerk R.A. Freeman, City Engineer F.E, Peters, P. Eng., Assistant
City Engineer T. Chong, City Building Inspector N. Chernoff, City
Treasurer J. Maitland, City Collector/Deputy Treasurer J. Fraser,
Confidential Secretary A. Leonard, Director of Community Planning W.
Brown, Fire Chief J.N. Boileau, Deputy Fire Chief R. Dunbar, Parks &

His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay introduced County Court Judge:

S.M. Leggatt and then called upon Judge Leggatt to receive the required
Statutory Declarations and administer the Oath of Allegiance to:

Leonard Macaulay Trabou! ay - Mayor

Michael! Douglas Gates - Alderman
Michael Cecil Farnworth - Alderman
William Watson Stewart - Alderman

who then officially took their places as Mayor and Aldermen of The
Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam.

places as Mayor and Aldermen of The Corporation of the City of Port

Coquitlam.

Mayor Traboulay advised retiring Alderman E.W. Mabbett sent his
regrets that he was unable to be in attendance this evening. Mayor
Traboulay then welcomed the various guests in attendance and expressed
his appreciation to the R.U.M.P. colour guard Constable David Bel! and

Constable Andrew Britnell.
