June 26th, 1978. By~law No. 1610: To rezone Lot "C", Block 8 of District Lot 232, Group One, Plan 6314 EXCEPT - Firstly: Parcel 1 (Explanatory Plan 17409) and Secondly: Part subdivided by Plan 35911, New Westminster District from RS-2 (One Family Suburban Residential) to RS-1 (One-Family Residential). This property is located at 1491 Pitt River Road and after the rezoning procedures have been completed it is expected that the property will be subdivided to create an additional residential lot. The City Planner explained the proposed rezoning and advised that one residential lot would be created. The owner was present and spoke in favour of the rezoning. C. was re Curling Rink... present to discuss his request to have a curling rink built in the City of Port Coquitlam and whether or not there would be enough people in Port Coquitlam interested in having a curling rink located here. Alderman Laking stated Mr. Stowe had been present at a Leisure Activities Committee meeting and that because of the cost of a curling rink it would have to go to referendum. Discussion then ensued on whether a survey should be done to see if there were enough people in Port Coquitlam interested in a curling rink. Moved by Alderman Traboulay: Seconded by Alderman Ranger: That the City of Port Coquitlam not conduct a survey of Port Coquitlam for people interested in building a curling rink at this time. Carried. Mr. Michael Wright, 1321 Larkspur, spoke regarding the concern of Mr. M. Wright, 1321 Larkspur, the residents of putting a walkway in from Coast Meridian Road to Larchway re Pedestrian Walkway ~ Cst. as this walkway would encourage prowlers to the area and would result in Meridian to Larchway. a lack of privacy. Mrs. B. Curley, 1333 Larkspur Drive, advised the residents were not aware that there was a walkway going in from Coast Meridian to Larchway
