CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM PARKS & RECREATION COMMITTEE of the Parks & Recreation Committee held in the Recreation Department on Wednesday, Maywas8th, 1985, at A meeting Parks & 4:15 p.m. In attendance were Alderman Michael Wright and Alderman George Laking. Also in attendance was K. Janna Taylor, Parks & Recreation Director. CONFIRMATION ~ MINUTES That the minutes of the meeting of the Parks & Recreation Committee held on Wendnesday, April 1985, be taken as read and adopted. ~h, Item iig 1 Horizon Centre The attached letter was reviewed by the committee. The opinion was that we cannot waive the charges due to the fact that we have had similar reguests from other organizations such as the New View Society, etc. RECOMMENDATION That the regular community fee for room rental remains the same. Alderman and Alderman Laking indicated they would Wright be unable to attend as did Janna. NAY 8 ~ 8 s~ ~ x- Item No 4 P.C.A.A.A. items Alderman Wright brought several items to the attention of the committee. a) Tug-of-war held at McLean park on Sunday, May 12, at Teams made up of 7 women and 7 men. Janna said she would inform female staff about the event, however, could not promise any staff. b) Portable goal posts for Evergreen Park. When will they be put up? Janna will talk to Bram to have posts put up as quickly as To be 2r30 p.m. possible. c) P.C.A.A.A. Storage Shed Apparently there is a leak. it. d) Bram will look into Paint for Arena Building Janna will write to P.C.A.A.A. to get clarification as to what part of the building they are speaking of. P.C.A.A.A might be interested in purchasing the paint. e) Thompson park Concern expressed that the pipes are moved to do work on the field and then not replaced. They are concerned that cars will drive onto he field. Janna will pass this information onto Bram. f) Limers Complaint that they are not where they are supposed to be. Janna explained that it is not the parks a Recreation Department's responsibility to run after the organizations to try and find them. At the beginning of each season the limers are placed in their proper place. The leagues are asked to co-operate and ensure that the limers remain in their proper locations.
