PROVINCIAL RINGETTFE TOURNAMENT _ The Port Coauitlam Rinvette Association vill be hosting the 1978 championshins March 10th and llth, 1978. Thev have reauested that-ice. rental: - charges be waived. In the past Council has waived charges for Provincial Championships. oo ; ; . Recommendation: : 4 That ice rental charges be walved for the 1978 B. C. Provincial | uw Ringette Championships. II. BANTAM TOURNAMENT The Port Coquitlam Minor Hockev Association has requested that March 27th to April Ist, 1973 be set .aside for the Bantam Tournament. As Council may be aware, last’ year was the first vear that the Minor Hockev Assoctation hosted this invitational tournament, The tournament last vear was extremely successful with good hockey being played and the association wishes to make this event an annual affair. Recommendation: (1) That the Minor Hockev Association be vermitted to host the Bantam Tournament on March 27th to April Ist, 1978 and that ice rental charges _ be waived for half of the ice time used. | ' ; (2) That concessions be handled in the same manner as last year, this being the Recreation Department selling coffee, hot chocolate and all cold drinks, and Minor Hockey selling the food. . III. SENIOR CITIZENS EXTENSION This year Council authorized the Leisure Activities Committee to. proceed with preliminary drawings for the extension of the Senior Citizens facility. The committee has since met. twice with senior citizens representa- tives to discuss the drawings. Several changes have been made to the original plan due to our discussions with the senior citizens representatives. Recommendation: (1) That the City Council endorse the plan as presented by the Leisure Activities Committee. (2) That Administration fully investigate possible provincial ané federal fudding and report to Council. (3) That we proceed with the addition as soon as possible due to the fact that it is badly nepded. a
