August 8, 1988/194 Mr. N. Thomen, 1588 Mary Hill Road is opposing the rezoning application as he does not want to see such high density townhomes in a residential area. Mr. J. Nance, 1591 Eastern Drive expressed concern that several hundred townhomes would be built in this new development and that the extension of Eastern Drive would function as a traffic artery. Mr. Nance feels that Mary Hill Road is already a heavily used road that is quite narrow and with parking allowed in most areas, is already unsafe for the dozens of children in the area. A call was received from Ms. S. Gil, 2361 Notingham Place who wished her name on record as being opposed to the proposed Zoning Amendment Bylaw as she does not want to see it in any way connect to the Citadel Heights project as far a access is concerned and that there is currently insufficient school Space to accommodate the existing amount of children Mr. D. Harrison, a Lawyer for Genstar Corporation presented a brief and petition expressing concern and objection to any road connection to the citadel Heights Community from the area presently being considered for rezoning. Ms. S. OQOsberg, 3156 Raleigh Street referred to roads in the City needing to be repaved and feels the city cannot cope with and increasing population. Mr. A. Laninga, 2125 Anita Drive asked if it would be possible to branch into Mary Hill Road instead of Eastern and Western Drive as a lot of young children use these roads and if this is not possible would cross walks and lights be put in to accommodate the extra traffic. Ms. J. Matheuzik, 1449 Delia Drive expressed concern that the existing schools will not be able to accommodate all the children coming into the area and asked if there would be additional recreation facilities and parks. Mr. G. Watts, 1455 Delia Drive feels most people are opposed to high density townhomes and expressed concern for the water pressure in his area as it has decreased since the new homes have been built in Citadel. Ms. D. Jones, 1472 Western Drive feeis the density is to high and has concerns that the schools will not be able to accommodate the number of children brought into the area. Mr. G. Hord, 1310 Eastern Drive would like to see a lower density for the area and would like to know why single family homes cannot be built. Ms. R. Ewing, 1310 Eastern Drive is not opposed to the development but would like to see the major portion remain single family dwellings and expressed concern for the increase in traffic and the problems it will cause children to and from school. Mr. Ge Gourlie, 1460 Mary Hill Road is concerned with the condition of the high density townhomes ten years from now.
