Yip, P-Eng Deputy City Engineer FROM: Russ Marmmel, EIT Supervisor of Design & Technical Services SUBJECT: CITY CONTRIBUTION FOR MARYHILL BYPASS UPGRADING RECOMMENDATION: ’ That Committee approves in principle the cost sharing of the work on the Mary Hill Bypass widening project at a cost of $220,867 plus GST for street light and drainage works. BACKGROUND: As part of the Mary Hill Bypass widening project, The MOTH was requested to prepare @ cost estimate to perform additional work for the City. These costs are outlined on the attached letter from the Ministry. The work requested is the installation of extra street lighting and the design and construction of drainage works recommended in the "Southeast Industrial Area Drainage Plan" report. The drainage work includes ditch deepening and widening for flows directed toward the Harbour and Dominion Pump Stations, along with !owering some utilities. ‘The extra street lighting is on Broadway Street and Kingsway Avenue. The MOTH requires a Council resolution agreeing to cost share with this project. The City contribution would be $220,867 plus GST. The Ministry anticipates completion of the project by November 1996 with final invoicing to the City by March 1997.
