From the City Engineer, November 18th, 1982 regarding snow clearing policy. rr, Moved _by Alderman Lakina: Seconded by Alderman Gates: That the following snow clearing policy be followed for the remainder of 1982 in order to reduce the cost of snow clearing by at least 25% 1. Snow removal and salting will not be done on sidewalks in front of City-owned property or at bus stop locations. 2. City-owned parking lots will not be cleared of snow except as can be done at little or no cost by equipment which would otherwise be idle between jobs. 3. Residential streets will not be cleared or salted except in hillside areas where there is no alternative to get into or out of the street except by means of a steep hill. Even in those cases, residential streets would not be cleared during overtime hours. Carried. Alderman Muldoon voted against the resolution. From the City Engineer, November 17th, 1982 regarding parking lot for BMX Track. Moved by Alderman Lakina: Seconded by Alderman Mabbett: That the PoCo BMX Association be informed that they should withhold any construction of a parking lot for their track until the City has made a decision regarding a new bridge to replace the Red Bridge. Carried. From the City Engineer, November 22nd, 1982 regarding traffic control on the Bailey Bridge. Moved by Alderman Vater: Seconded by Alderman Mabbett: That no change be made to the traffic control on the Bailey Bridge; AND THAT some additional signs be installed to inform people of the need to stop at the signal stop line to actuate the traffic signal. Carried. Aldermen Gates, Laking and Muldoon voted against the resolution.
