June 26th, 1978. and advised in her opinion a walkway was not necessary. Mrs. Carol Bennett, 1351 Larkspur Drive, advised the underbrush had been cleared and with a walkway there would be no privacy left. Alderman Laking stated there had been discussion on the height of fencing and that the underbrush be left on the road allowance, but that at third reading of the by-law to authorize the subdivision the fence was changed from an 8' solid fence to a 5' chainlink fence and the roadway was to be cleared and re-landscaped and that a walkway be put through. Alderman Laking advised that he stated at the time that the residents wore opposed to any such changes. Alderman Ranger gave a brief explanation of the history of the subdivision and stated that the walkway was to be 6 feet wide with 27 feet between the walkway and the fence. Discussion then ensued. Moved by Alderman Traboulay: Seconded by Alderman Ranger: That the proposed walkway be referred to the Public Works Committee for further study and a report be brought to Council. Alderman Laking voted against the resolution. Prior to passage of the foregoing resolution the residents were advised that the clearing would cease until after the study had been done by the Public Works Committee. Alderman Traboulay advised the Public Works Committee is meeting on Thursday, June 29th, 1978 at 3:45 p.m. and that the residents should advise the City Engineer if they wish to have a representative present at the meeting.
