The Committee, in-its Teport, advised that the time of construction and manning of the North Side location was also discus-_ sed, and ‘recommended the following for consideration: "1. That we reserve a portion of the City uwned land on Toronto Street South of Prairie Road for furcre fire hall cons struction. 2. that. we proceed ' to. construct: an access to the site and install the nec- essary services. 3. That the Fire Chief proceed to draw up specifications for a pumpér unit $0 that tenders can be called for the ° ‘purchase of this” equipment in the Fall of 1974. The Committee was advised that there is at least a one year - delivery date on vehicles of this. sett and the. Committee feels that the tender calls should not be delayed beyond the Fall of 1974, 4. That we work towards a design for a building that would permit tenders | to be called in the Spring of 1975 for ‘the construction of a two bay hall with | living quarters on the proposed site and that the 1975 budget for- fire. depart- ment operation include provision for manning the hall in the Fall of 1975. n addition to the foregoing the Committee recommends that the Finance Committee review the method of financing the proposed construction which is” expected to be in the neighbourhood of $80,000. to $100,000. for the building and $50,000. to $55,000. for the vehicie and also review the implications of manning this hall in 1975."
