Daughter - _ of »Harry and ‘Josephine Richmond, Cissy Hare (Richmond) was born May 24, 1916 at Kitsumgallum. The’ Richmond. family consisted of four children: three boys — Charlie, James and Harry Jr. - and Cissy. On Wednesday, May 24, Cissy celebrated her 90th.’ fs birthday. The celebration started with a picnic at Red Sand Lake and then a dinner at the Northern Motor Inn.- Family “members ,, gathered’ - _ together to help celebrate her - special 90th birthday.’ And ‘what a celebration it was. HERE *N THERE YVONNE MOEN Cissy was born at home at her grandmother Emma Nel- son’s house at Kitsumgal- lum. Her grandmother was ~ the midwife at the time of, her birth. Cissy was brought , up. by. her grandmother, as her mother died when she was only 6 years old. She © has many wonderful memo- ries of her grandmother. Richmond, were married at Kitsumgal- lum in 1911. Harry Rich- mond was from England and he served in the First World War. Harry was a . blacksmith and first worked . on the riverboats, then later | worked for CNR. Son Harry Jr..also served in the: service and served overseas during - the Second World War... Her mother Josephine died while she. was walking from Terrace to Kitselas: She was later found by her son Charlie. Cissy was only six years old.
