LEFT TURN LANE EXTENSION - LOUGHEED AT COAST
MERIDIAN

RECOMMENDATION:

Award Hamilton & Associates the contract for the design, tendering and construction
supervision of the 150 metre left turn lane extension on the Lougheed Highway at Coast
Meridian Road, for a fixed fee of $8,560 including GST.

The extension of this left turn lane noted above is a requirement of the MOTH and has been
Scheduled for design and construction by the City in 1994. |

~ Hamilton & Associates was selected to provide a quote for their services on this project oo
because of their familiarity with the area and their Engineering involvement with the adjacent —
. Lougheed/Ottawa intersection. Because of the small size of this project, our normal call for

_ proposals from a number of consultants * was not done. |

The! $8, 560 consultant fee will come from Highway DCC funds, and construction costs (yet to:
_ be determined) will be funded 98. 6% from DCC's. |
