While we may be looking at future focuses and initiatives and expansion, the fact that we have 10 years of history to build from, is actually the main reason we can look ahead with relative ease. : t haven't done an inventory of the community committees that we are involved in at the moment, however, a few of the high profile committees are: Family Abuse Task Force, School District #43 Community Liaison and so on, obviously form a part of our Community Policing profile. I would also hope that committee members would he active in contacting outside groups such as the ratepayers agsociations on a regular basis to ensure a two-way communication system. I would think that problem solving and social planning in such things 4s shopping malls, public housing complexes, etc., will evolve through the efforts of the citizens with the encouragement of the Community Policing Committee. lL personally believe that the Block Watch program is a major component of Community Policing, and for that matter other community activities as outlined in the HEROS presentation at a recent emergency preparedness meeting.
