WHEREAS under and by virtue of Section 267 of the "Municipal Act" belng Chapter 290 of the Revised Statutes of British Cotumbla, 1979, the Councl | may by bylaw provide for paying out of the annual revenue an indemnity to Tne Mayor ana Aldermen of Tne Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam, and may provide that a portion of the sala Inaemnity to be patd to the M-yor and Aldermen sna!l!l be pata as an allowance for expenses Incldenta! to the aiscnarge of tne auties of Their respective offices; | NOW THEREFORE the Municipal Counc!l! of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam, itn open meeting assembled, enacts as follows: 1. During the period extending from the First Monday after the First day of December, 1984 to tne First Monday after the First day of December, 1985, there shall be pala to the Mayor of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitiam an inaemnity of $27,996.00 per annum of which sald Indemnity the sum of $9,332.00 shall be paid as an allowance for expenses Incidental to The discharge of the duties of nis office. 2. During the period extenaing from the First Monday after the First day ‘of December, 1984 to the First Monday after the First day of December, 1985, tnere shall be pala to each of The Aldermen of The Corporation of the City of Fort Coaquitiam an tndemnity of $8,565.00 per annum of which sald indemnity the sum of $2,855.00 shall be pald as an allowance for expenses inciaental to the discharge of the duties of the office of Alderman. 3. The Inoemnity providea for In Sections 1 and 2 hereof shall be pald by the City Treasurer in twelve equal monthly Instaliments during the monts of Decemner, 1984 tnrough November 1985, Inclusive, to the person or persons entitled to receive the same without further order or resolution of the Council save anda except as provided in Section 5 of this Bylaw. 4, Atter the expiry of The time specified Im Sections 1 and 2 hereof the Treasurer shall continue To pay the same equa! monthly Installments to the person or persons entitled to receive the same as was belng pald under the authority of Sections | and 2 hereof until! the Counci! shal! otherwise provide; ana, upon such provision belng made the amount or amounts pala shall be adjusted accordingly. 5. ln the event any member of Council!
