LL eay City C Mabbett had stated at the meeting that the minimum legal dollar was paid to the owners for this easement, but upon checking further he advised that the minimum legal dollar was paid to the owner on McAllister Avenue, but that a larger amount of $2,000. was paid for the Elgin Avenue easement. Alderman Mabbett wished to have this correction recorded. Alderman Mabbett advised the Young Drivers of America had a survey in the local newspaper on the crosswalks on Shaughnessy Street and the results showed they are extremely hazardous with cars going through the crosswalks when they are occupied. Alderman Mabbett asked that the R.C.M.P. be notified. Alderman Mabbett stated he received complaints on two trucks and three cars parking in illegal parking zones and advised he has asked the By-law Officer to cleck on the number of tickets issued by the R.C.M.P. on the weekend. Alderman Mabbett stated he has received complaints of large increases in Assessment. Mayor Campbell stated people should let the City know if they are receiving large increases in assessment and this could be looked into. Alderman Mabbett asked for clarification of the clean-up of the property north of Beaver Lumber on Westwood Street. The City Administrator advised he will look into this.
