PARKING REQUIREMENTS:

According to the Port Coquitlam Planning Department a Dance Hail
jn our location requires 37 parking stalls. Through a lease agreement
with the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, we can provide 19 parking

stalls adjacent to the building.
In order to resolve the remaining deficiency we ask Council to

‘enter into a parking agreement with us, the applicants, on the same
conditions as were allowed the previous Theatre operators. This then
would provide sufficient parking to meet the requirements for an adult

Dance Hall.
It is our belief (as well as that of some neighbouring councils).

that the parking requirements were determined for an adult Club and as
such are not totally applicable to a Teenage operation. Our Disco-Club

caters exclusively to teens aged 13 - 18 years.
Common sense dictates that teens 13 - 15 do not drive, therefore

they have no parking requirement. The teens aged 16 may have a Driver's
License, but, only on rare occasions would they have access to the family
var for the night . This leaves only the 17 -18 year olds. The majority
of these are still students of which less than half own an automobile.

It 4s only for the latter that parking will be required. We
believe that the 19 parking stalls already provided will suffice.

COMMUNITY RESPONSE:

We ask council to consider the community response,to our
proposed Disco Dance Club, which has been favorable. We have found
support from both teens and adults, as is shown by our petition.

Due to our financial commitments in this enterprise, we ask
Council to make a decision, as soon as possible.
