Dear Sirs:

Since 1973 it has been the objective of the Community Recreation
Council to implement a scheme wherein the School Board and the City
share in the cost of uncrading and maintainin:, the existin= school
playing fields. We feel this method of orovidine adequate 1
would certainly be more sensib’e,and economical ,than the d
of these existins flelds.

Considering the number of Port Coquitlam residents utilisin: these
fields, and the fact that it is our understandin= the School Board is
agreeable to a fifty -— fifty snlit on the maintenance cost, this conmi ittee
finds it very dif ficult to understand how some members of Council can

justify voting against this »ronosal.

We feel the Leisure Rebicrit ries Committee has nresente
with an excellent vlan for orovidine us with much noedad fae: tit:

at the lowest nossible cost to the taxpayers of Port Cosuitilam
strongly urge Council to reconsider their decision in this matter
