December 9th, 1974 AND THAT the proposed ice schedule be adopted as recommended in a report from the Parks & Recreation Committee, November 29th, 1974. Prior to the question being called on the foregoing proposed resolution, the following amendment was made: Moved by Alderman Ranger: Seconded by Alderman Mabbett: That the foregoing proposed resolution be amended to read: "That adoption of the proposed ice schedule as submitted with a report from the Parks & Recreation Committee, November 29th, 1974 await the outcome of a meeting to be held as soon as possible between the Committee and representatives of the Port Coquitlam Minor Hockey Association and the Port Coquitlam Ministerial Association." Carried. Alderman Laking then stated he felt the foregoing amending motion to be out of order as it changes the intent of the original resolution. His Worship the Mayor then ruled that both the original resolution and the subsequent amendment to be out of order. Tt was then agreed that a meeting be held as soon as possible between the Recreation Committee and representatives of the Port Coquitlam Minor Hockey Association and the Port Coquitiam Ministerial Association to review the ice schedule. Club-annual that the Port Coquitlam & District Hunting & Fishing Club sponsor a Schuetzenfest Schuetzenfest each year and that at a meeting held on December 5th, 1974 a delegation from the Club indicated the event was to be held on May 31st, 1975; however, they failed to notify the Recreation Department that this was the date they had chosen, and as this is the weekend May Day is to be held, the Committee feels it would be unreasonable to have two large functions going on at the same time. Alderman Laking, in speaking to the report, stated he felt both functions could be accommodated by using the two arenas. Mr. L. Kallen, May Day Co-ordinator, stated he was opposed to another event being held on May Day, and pointed out that both arenas may be required for the latter function; however, members of Council generally agreed that both
