THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM B.R. Kirk DATE: February 20, 1991 City Administrator I.R. Zahynace, P. Eng. City Engineer RECYCLING TRUCK TENDERS Recommendat:lons: That the City of Port Coquitiam award the tender for the supply of two diasel recycling trucks to Co~Van & Dell based on the tendered price of $146,470.46. Background & Comments: The City of Port Coquitlam received 17 quotes which range from $101,878.54 to $218,304.70, for the supply of two diesel recycling trucks as shown on the attached tender summary. The third lowest bid of $141,349.00 ie from Co-Van & Commercial of New Westminster, and the fourth lowest bid of $146,470.46 from Co-Van & Deli of Port Coquitlam, both meet our.minimum specifications. Although the Dell bid is $5,121.46 (3.6%) higher, it is recommended that the Dell bid is accepted because Dell is very close to the works yard and we have received good support and warranty work in the past. ‘There was’ $150,000.00 estimated in the 1991 budget for tender purchases, the funds would be coming from the $400,000.00 allocated from the Tax Sale Reserve for recycling equipment. The recycling truck was specified as a low profile right-hand drive diesel truck complete with a hydraulic dumping steel box. The two lowest bids from Rollins Machinery did not meet the specifications in that hydraulic brakes rather than air brakes was offered. IRZ:g¢ Attachment
