December 7, 1989 Mayor Len Traboulay C/O City Hall 2aa72 McAllister Street Port Coquitlam, B.C., Canada. V3C 2A8 Dear Mayor, My Husband and myself have recently moved into the Citadel Heights Subdivision. We were shocked to discover that there isn't any door to door mail delivery. Although, almost directly across the street from where we live there is an unsightly row of Green Mail Boxes placed on the edge of Parkland. We strongly object to the use of this primitive method of mail delivery. Also, these mailboxes are a definite eye sore. Mail- boxes placed on the edge of Parkland is also unacceptable. The litter that accumulates around these boxes is another problem. We were also disturbed by the article in The Coquitlam Now Paper Which I have enclosed. What do you mean Canada Post is impossible to deal with? Canada Post is you and I the Tax Payer. City Council has succumbed to these rows of Mail Boxes? What is the meaning of that statement. If it is to mean our neighborhoods must be littered with these ugly Mail Boxes you can count on a definite Lobbying effort from this Neighborhood to keep them out of our area. How would you like them in front of your House instead. These mailboxes seem to be a small problem to resolve and yet we are told it has been going on for three years. If Council cannot solve this minor problem what will they ever do about rapid transit, needed Schools and facilities that are not keeping up with the growth in construction here. Sincerely, SO Alain & Sharon Chateauneuf 1157 Citadel Drive Port Coquitlam, B.C. V3C 5N3
