is very difficult to estimate but if we were to have to replace all
playing fields once every five years, the cost could be in the order
of forty to fifty thousand dollars per year and this would not
include the passive parks,

Iam aware that it is possible-to retard the growth of
weeds in parks by the use of frequent fertilizing and frequent
close mowing. However, to do this we would need to purchase
additional mowing equipment and put an additional mowing crew on
aS our present crew is fully utilized during the summer. I.would
anticipate that extra fertilizing, irrigation, and mowing costs
would run to about $40,000 per year and this would still not solve
the problem but only slow it down.
