Mayor Tonn to Mayor Campbell and a copy of a letter dated April 9th, 1974
from the City Clerk. After giving this request consideretion the Committee
recommends that the District of Coquitlam be informed that the City cannot
agree to provide further water connections to enable further development to
take place in this area of the District of Coquitlam. A similiar request
was made in 1971 and although the Council at that time agreed to provide
water to this area of the District, nothing further transpired at that time.
Another request was made in 1972 and this was dealt with in 1973 on the
basis of a potential public health problem to existing residents of the
District. At that time the City agreed to provide limited domestic water
service to all existing residents of the District in this particular area.
Shortly after the agreement reached in 1973 the District of Coquitlam made
a further request for one additional connection to provide domestic water
service to a proposed dog kennel. This request was turned down.
