It is 60 years since the charter was presented to the original members back in 1927. One of the orig- ‘inal members, Mr. L.H. Kenney, died this year at the age of 102. He was a veteran of the First World War. They had their reception at the - Lakelse banquet room, now known as The Inn of the West.. On Saturday, Feb. 21, celebrated their 25th wed- ding anniversary at the . Inn of the West banquet room. The surprise party was arranged by their sons. Shane and Scott. The cou- ple were taken to the ban- quet room on the pretext. of going out to dinner with their son, ‘Shane. To their surprise, the couple were joined. by 50 family and friends for a delicious seafood and beef dinner cious year. ‘Some sort of publication is planned that will depict the Legion’s ac- ‘tivities over the past 60 years. It will be paid for by advertising but will be delivered- free to the residents of the area. The committee hopes to put in articles that will be of in- terest to the general public - as well as to the veterans and old timers of. the branch here. . Police by Carrie Olson On Thursday, March 3 ‘at .approximately 7:53 ‘a.m. the Terrace RCMP attended a motor vehicle accident involving three ‘vehicles on Lanfear Hill. ~ Police reported the three vehicles were headed south down Lanfear Hill when the first vehicle lost control and went off the road to the right. The sec- one vehicle, a 4x4 pickup, report- was able to stop and did . . not hit the first vehicle. The third vehicle, another pickup,-was unable to stop and rear-ended the 4x4 pickup. RCMP said the 4x4 pickup received light damage to the rear bumper, and the other pickup received major. “structural damage to its front end. On Thursday, March. 5 as a result of a drug in- ’ vestigation conducted by the Terrace RCMP, a Ter- race man was found in possession of approx- imately one quarter pound of marijuana.
