Rec. Ass'n. attention the fact that the Recreation Director did not attend the Regicnal
Conference

Recreational Conference in Portland this year in preference to attending the
Annual Conference of the Canadian Parks and Recreation Association in Winnipeg
on August llth to 15th.

That as recommended in a report from the City Administrator, July 3rd,
1974, the Recreation Director, Janna Taylor, be authorized to attend the

Annual Conference of the Canadian Parks and Recreation Association in

Winnipeg on August 11th to 15th, 1974, and that her expenses in connection

therewith be paid by the City. Carried.
Alderman Ranger stated he felt that a written report should be made to
Council on the Regional Recreational Conference in Portland, Oregon, and
Alderman Laking stated that although he had given an oral report on his atten-
dance, he would also prepare a written report as requested by Alderman Ranger.

Works Superintendent have been sent to this conference.

1974, the Assistant City Engineer, Mr. D.N. Lockwood, P. Eng., and the Works
& Utilities Superintendent, Mr. George Ulmer, be authorized to attend the
annual conference of the Public Works Association of B.C. to be held in
Kamloops on September 11th to 13th, 1974, and that their expenses in connec-
tion therewith be paid by the City. Carried.

A suggestion was made that all persons attending conferences should
prepare written reports thereon for Council, and to this His Wership the
Mayor agreed.
