Chamber, Port Coquitlam City Hall on Monday, December 16th, 1985, at 7:30 p.m. His Worship Mayor L.M, Traboulay, Aldermen M.C. Farnworth, M.D. Gatos, J.J. Keryluk, G.R, Laking, W.W. Stewart and M.R. Wright in attendance. Also in attendance were City Administrator B.R. Kirk, City Clerk R.A. Freeman, City Engineer F.E, Peters, P. Eng., City Treasurer J. Maitland, Director of Communi ty Planning W. Brown and Parks & Recreation Director K.J. Taylor. CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES: Moved by Alderman Gates: Seconded by Alderman Farnworth: That the minutes of the Regular Counci | Meeting held on December 9th, 1985, be taken as read and adopted. Carried. DELEGATIONS: NP/00/85/ 12/16/01 His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay introduced Mr. Leonard Snel!, who then made a presentation to Counci | regarding the Burrard Thermal Plant and advised a letter had been received from the City of Port Moody concerning this subject, Moved by Alderman Farnworth: seconded by Alderman Laking: That The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam give notice to the Environmental] Appeal Board of B.C. that it intends to appeal! the granting of a permit to B.C, Hydro (Burrard Thermal Generating Plant) to pollute at a maximum tolerable level and that it seek to have the standard altered to the "MAXIMUM ACCEPTABLE" level rather than the "MAXIMUM TOLERABLEā„¢ level; AND THAT the City of Port Coquititam Council! send a letter to G.V.R.D., The Honourable C, Stephen Rogers, The Minister of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources, and The Honourable F.C. Austin Pelton, The Minister of Environment, strongly objecting to the basis of operation allowed B.C. Hydro under the permit issued and further that the City appeal the issuance of this Permit to the appropriate authorities. Carried. BYLAWS: BL/01/85/12/ 16/03 Moved by Alderman Laking: Seconded by Alderman Farnworth: That Bylaw No. 2150 be reconsidered, finally passed and adopted. Carried.
