August 3rd, 1976 Moved by Alderman Ranger: Seconded by Alderman Laking: That as suggested in the July 20th, 1976 letter from the Greater Vancouver Regional District Planning Department, a meeting be held to further discuss the Livable Region Programme. Carried. During discussion of the foregoing resolution several suggestions for meeting times were put forth with Alderman Ranger suggesting August llth, 1976 at 4:00 p.m. but the general concensus being that it be held in conjunction with an open meeting of Council, perhaps on August 16th if the regular Agenda permits, or early in September. Mayor Campbell advised that he would request that the G.V.R.D. bring their film on Compact Housing for viewing at that time as well. Ad Hoc Productions re filming of movie-August /76 From Ad Hoc Productions, Inc., July 20th, 1976 outlining the plans to film certain portions of a television movie entitled "Death Hunt" in the City for approximately 8 days from August 10th through 17th, and requesting Council's endorsation of their request. The R.C.M.P. have been contacted in regard to a proposed ‘traffic jam and controlled accident' on Shaughnessy between Elgin and Whyte and they have agreed to provide police assistance for traffic control during the filming. The underpass would not be blocked of £ during the filming in order that traffic can continue to flow into and out of the downtown area.
