(Macro) Reference is made to the above mentioned application, a copy of which of the advertisement is attached hereto, In considering this complex and unusual application, the City engaged the services of Dr. M. Stewart of Associated Engineering Services Ltd, After consideration by the Envirormental Protection Sub-committee and by the City Council at the regular Council Meeting held Monday August 6th, 1973, the following comments are forwarded for your information. 1. The following is an excerpt from Dr. Stewart's report to the City which might be of assistance in your review: "Permit Application Form Review . items 1 to 4: No comment. Item 5: (a) The coacentrations of constituents are listed in grams/liter, Normally the concentrations are given in milligrams/liter (mg/l). Thus 0.045 prams/liter for total solids would become 45 mg/l. {ncidentally mg/l for all practical purposes can be called parts per million (ppm) when the specific gravity of the wastewater is close to unity, (b) The stated effluent characteristics are presumably for the wastewater immediately before it is applied to the final settling-percolation pond(s).
