in their colourful robes and hats,
they congratulated the newly in-
stalled chancellor and president.

The green and gold gowns and
hats of UNBC’s interim govern
ing council ‘were displayed with
pride against the backdrop of the
Prince George Children’s Choir
in white and green and the formal
dress of the Prince George
Symphony Orchestra as it gave
its stirring rendition of Aurora
Borealis, .the symphony. created
by Frederick Schipizki for this
occasion.

Taking centre stage was the
new mace, the talking stick,
carved by Ron Sebastian of New
Haze]ton symbolizing the link be-
tween generations and cultures.

Lt. Gov. David C. Lam spoke
of the wealth which knowledge
brings to the area. -
