Peaceful co-existence has become a central point in the development of international relations. e Throughout its entire history, the Soviet Union’s actions for peace in diplomatic and political fields have inspired millions. The Government of the Soviet Union, implementing and carrying forward faithfully the ideals of the great Lenin, has continuously placed before the world numerous proposals on the most vital issues of peace—proposals which have the support of all who stand for peace. Among such proposals are those for the strengthening of security in Europe, in Asia and in the world, for general and complete dis- armament; for the banning of the production and use of weapons of mass destruction; for the liquidation of colonialism. The Soviet Union’s peace pro- posals, have time and again, in the United Nations and elsewhere, met with a response from all who seek peace and have strengthened the work of all peace movements and organizations. The Soviet Union today is a mighty bastion in the struggle for peace, for national independence, for progress and democracy. The Soviet Union has always given all the support asked for by the heroic people of Vietnam in their struggle against U.S. agression and for the right to be masters of their own destiny. The Soviet Union stands in full support of the Arab peoples fighting back the imperialist Israeli aggression, in full support of the peoples of Asia, Africa and Latin America fighting against imperialism, colonialism and neo- colonialism. : The World Peace Council representing a wide spectrum of political and social forces with differing viewpoints has drawn inspiration“from the resolute and untiring efforts of the Soviet Government and people for peace, against the threat of a new world war, for the settlement of all international issues through negotiation and for ending all conflicts and wars imposed on the peoples by imperialism. : The peace forces gain confidence in their certainty of finally triumphing over imperialism and war from the unwavering support which they always receive from the Soviet people. e The teachings of Lenin point the road to the victory of peace.
