Pynenburg Project Technician SUBJECT: DEER CROSSING SIGN ON DOMINION AVE. AND STREETLIGHTING RECOMMENDATION: Tum down sequest for additional streetlighting on Dominion in conjunction with "Deer Crossing" sign. 4 Atteohedwif- a report sent to the Public Works Committee regarding the installation of "Deer Crossing" signs on Dominion. The recommendation was for the installation of two "Deer Crossing” signs in the 600 block and the 1300 block of Dominion Ave.. The report has been referred back to the P.W.C. for further consideration with the addition of the possibility of additional streetlighting on Dominion. This additional lighting will be in aid of the proposed “Deer Crossing” signs. | Additional streetlighting on Dominion is not necessary at this time because: . {) The standard "Deer Crossing" sign (WC-13) is " reflectorized or illuminated to show the sarne colour and shape by night as by day" (See Uniform Traffic Control Decives Section A3.80) This warming sign is normally used on highways in areas of litle or no population and seldom with streetlighting. 2) As the Dominion Rd. area grows with commercial and industrial business, the streetlighting in the area will improve also. At present the streetlighting is sufficient on Dominion Rd, Proposed Location of Signs One sign to be installed on the south side of Dominion accros from the property located at 1345 Dominion Ave, and one sign to be installed on the north side of Dorninion at Fremont St. NOTE: Please see reports from October 2 and October 15 referring to lighting on Dominion in conjunction with proposed signs. This report revised November 3 with specific sign locations. Anne T. Pynenburg” Project Technician attachment atp i rr vay Vay
