In cases where areas of the Munietpal ity may be affected by exceptional snow fall or flooding which may affect the contractor's abllity to perform, service may be temporarily discontinued with the permission of the City Engineer. In every case where such discontinuance i$ permitted, the service Shall be resumed as soon as the City Engineer Is Satisfied that the Contractor can perform and the Contractor shal | Thereupon resume the service and shal | collect and ramove al | newspaper forthwith which may have accumulated during the period the service was discontinued. VEHICLE STANDARDS a) The Contractor shall use vehicles and equipment in conformity with the Motor Vehicle Act of the Province of British Columbia and within the walght limits estab! Ished by the Province and Municipality, All vaehicies used shall be designed In such a manner as to prevent tne discharge of Newspaper and any other matertals that may be collected while the vehicle is Im transit, The Contractor shal | Supply a list to the City Engineer of al | aqulpment TO be used In the axecution of tha Contract, This list Is to be kept current at all times. He shall also Indicate what arrangemants will be made In case of breakdown of regular aquipment. The Contractor shal | give to the City Engineer Prompt notice In writing of any damage done to public property by any vehicle of the Contraetor with particulars of such damage and the cause thereof, TEMPORARY BACKUP The Contractor shal | provide for temporary backup for his normal service if it Should fail through mechanical fallure of equipment, personal health of employees or other reasons, FAILURE TO PERFORM The Contractor will be required to post a performance bond In The amount of $2,500 with the Muntcipality for the duration of the Contract. The Contractor agrees that If the work stated herein is not carried out In accordance with the terms of the Contract, the City may complete any portion of the work at the cost of the Contractor and daduct from the performance bond held by the City. , GENERAL TERMS a) The Contractor shall exercise good public relations In carrying out his obligations under this Contract, 6) All personnel engaged in the collection of newspaper shal | conduct themselves In a courteous and polite manner and shall dress and groom themselves In a standard acceptable to the City Engineer. 6 3 4 mh ae _ arin RTT eK y i . .
