December 6th, 1982, looking forward to working with the new Council and the community to bring these projects to a satisfactory conclusion. Alderman Wright then addressed the meeting expressing his gratitude to the people of Port Coquitlam for his re-election and to his son Ashley and wife Thelka for their support and stated over the past 12 months the Council has had an interesting year and referred to the success of the Library Referendum and the start of construction of the new "Terry Fox Library"; advised the Fraser Valley Regional Library Board has a new Director and referred to the restructuring of the Fraser Valley Regional Library Board; and stated he served as Council representative on the May Day Committee. Alderman Wright then thanked the citizens of Port Coquitlam and the Library Staff for their support and wished everyone better times ahead. Alderman Mabbett then addressed the meeting and advised he served as Chairman of the Planning and Zoning Committee; Council representative on the Greater Vancouver Regional District Board of Directors; served on the Energy Retrofit Program Committee with Alderman Laking; and the Genstar Development Committee; Downtown Revitalization Committee with Alderman Gates; Library Construction Committee with Alderman Wright and referred to the Justice Building Complex and stated that it is his intention to do what is best for Port Coquitlam and referred to the Community Plan and stated that Public Information meetings will be held for public input. Alderman Mabbett stated it is his pleasure to serve the citizens of Port Coquitlam and that with the community's help to tighten the budget in some areas of service he is sure we will come out on top. Alderman Mabbett then wished everyone the best in 1983.
