Moved by Alderman Mabbett: Seconded by Alderman Gates: That the City of Port Coquitlam Recreation Department endeavours, at all times. to provide quality recreation and leisure pursuits for persons with special needs. NEW BUSINESS: Alderman Muldoon referred to an article in the September 15th, 1981 edition of the Coquitlam Herald regarding one of the participants Miss and suggested that a Orissa Peyman, who suffers from cerebral palsy, special tribute from the City be awarded to her for her achievement. Moved by Alderman Muldoon: Seconded by Alderman Keryluk: That the Parks and Recreation Committee consider giving a tribute from the City to Miss Orissa Peyman, victim of cerebral palsy, for her achievement in completing the "Terry Fox Run" on September 13th, 1981. Carried. Alderman Mabbett asked that a meeting be arranged, perhaps at the forthcoming U.B.C.M, Convention, with the Honourable A. V. Fraser, to discuss the Mary Hill By-pass; Minister. of Transportation & Highways, and the Honourable C. Stephen Rogers, Minister of Environment, regarding the Agricultural Land Reserve lands under 2 acres and ask that some progress be varried out.
