MEMORANDUM C ¢ TO: Mayor and Council July 28th, 1978 FROM: © LD. Pollock ‘ City Administrator Re: Application for Teen Disco Licence — Old Port Coquitlam Theatre We have received an application for Business Licence for a Teen Disco to be located at the old theatre building. We cannot gxant this licence in view of the fact that the building does not meet the parking requirements of our Zoning By-law. The applicants wish to speak to the Council in support of their application and I understand that they can arrange parking, by way of a lease on the Bank of Commerce property to take care of some of the parking requirements, however, they will still be short by some 20 parking spaces. . If Council wish to confirm the issuance of a licence subject to the applicant entering into an appropriate agreement to cover the parking deficiency, such a documént can be prepared. If the (ouncil feel that the Business Licence application should not be approved, a motion to deny the issuance of a Business Licence would require the vote of two- thirds of all the members of Council.
