«Res Summer Hours:

Last year we introduced 8:30 - 4:30 hours for City Hall for the months of June,
July and August. This procedure was in line with many of the other municipalities in
the Lower Mainland including the Dietrict of Coquitlam and Port Moody. I felt that the
change in hours was beneficial in that it benefits the contractors and building trades
that make use of the office for building permits and inspections. These people invariably
arrive at the office at 8:30 or earlier in the morning and the early hours enable them to
complete their business. I understand that there may have been some complaints from tax-
payers last year with regard to the summer hours. We did not receive any.calls at. the ..
City Hall in connection with this matter, however, some of the members of Council may
have been contacted on this matter. ,

In addition, last year the outside hours were advanced to 7:30 ~ 4:00 for the
outside crews and it would be wy recommendation that we advance the working hours during
the months of June, July and August from the present schedule of 9:00 a.m. ~ 5:00 p.m.
to 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. for the City Hall staff and for the outside crewa from the
present schedule of 8:00 e.m. - 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. ~ 4:00 p.m. subject to ecceptance
by the Union.

Res Senior Staff Salaries ~ 1972:
As a result of discussion In Committee of the Whole it was recommended that the

amount of $7,380.00 be included in the 1972 budget for senior staff salary increases and

in addition thet the Vector Control Officer's Salary be established at the present Prov-
-ineial Government scale fer Provincial Health Inspector I - Step 3.
This year the increases granted to department heade was based on a flat rate

amount and the calculated cost of this increase over 1971 salaries amounts to 6.51%.

A resolution of Council is required to confirm the above increases.
