Un tout nouveau service de
garderie ouvrira ses portes
dans |’école en septembre!

En septembre 2013, |'’école
Franco-nord de Prince George
se dotera d'une nouvelle garde-
rie et d’un nouveau service de
garde : Les Dragonards. II s’agit
d’un projet excitant pour la com-
munauté francophone, car ce
service accueillera les tout-petits
dans sa garderie multiages, de
méme que les éléves aprés les
heures de classe.

L'APE a effectué un sondage plus tot cette année, et il en
est ressorti que les parents voulaient un service de garderie en
langue frangaise dans |'école. En compagnie du directeur,
Anthony Bulteau, quelques parents ont entrepris de faire en
sorte que ce réve devienne réalité. Le groupe espére obtenir
la licence du service d'ici au mois de juin.

Ala garderie, on prévoit pouvoir accueillir jusqu'da trois en-
fants de moins de trois ans, et jusqu’d cing enfants de plus de
trois ans. Au service de garde scolaire, il y aura 12 places dis-
ponibles; les enfants auront accés 4 l'aide aux devoirs. Pour
faire fonctionner la garderie, il est nécessaire d’embaucher
deux intervenantes ou intervenants qui ont un dipl6me d'ECE
(Early Childhood Education ou Dipl6me d'’éducation a la pe-
tite enfance). Le comité veillera a remplir ces postes dans les
prochains deux mois.

vey, coordonnatrice du secteur de la petite enfance a la Fé-
dération des parents francophones de Colombie-Britannique,
pour son soutien et ses conseils judicieux dans la réalisation de
notre projet. Nous avons bien hdte de partager avec vous
photos et histoires de la vie des Dragonards au cours de la
prochaine année scolaire!

A new care facility to
open in the school next
September!

An exciting new
ie project is underway
at Ecole Franco-nord in
Prince George. By Septem-
ber 2013, the school! will be
home to a new group of
children - Les Dragonards.
Les Dragonards will be a
multiage daycare and
after-school care facility
serving the Francophone
community.

After a survey conducted by the school's APE earlier
this year indicated a strong interest in having a French-
language daycare within fhe school, a small group of
parents and the school’s principal, Anthony Bulteau,
began working to make this dream a reality. The group
is currently working to have a license in place by June.

If is anticipated that the daycare will be able to care
for up to three children under the age of three, and up
to five children over the age of three. There will also be
twelve after-school care spots available, where children
will be able to receive homework assistance.

Two Francophone daycare providers in possession of
their Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificates will be
required to run the daycare. The committee will be look-
ing to fill these positions over the next couple of months.

tion des parents for her support and advice in the real-

and stories from Les Dragonards in the upcoming school
year!
