The Committee has also received several complaints from residents

who live adjacent to the N.W. diamond at McLean Park about softballs
going into their yards. It is estimated that an additional $2,000.00
is required to add on to the existing fencing at the diamond in order
to help alleviate the problem.

Recommendation

That monies be taken out of thd Parks Reserve to fix the fencing at
the N.W. diamond, mo 4

Once again the City of Port Coquitlam is being invited to bid for
hosting the above games. Council ®will recall’ that, in 1979 the
Recreation Director was assigned to a Task Force with the City of Port
Moody and the District of Coquitlam to explore the feasibility of our
jointly sponsoring a future B.C. Summer and/or Winter games, This
inter-municipal Task Force Committea submitted a report entitled
“Towards a B.C. Summer/Winter Games in School District #43". City
Council endorsed recommendations 1 and 2 of the report (please see

attached).

The Inter-municipal Staff Committee met a couple of weeks ago and have
come to a decision that, at this time we have no central facility nor
the necessary ancillary areas to considor hosting such a provincial.
