COUN TO; Mayor & Council , June 7th, 1974 JUN 19 1974 FROM: Alderman P.F. Ranger Re: Pedestrian Traffic Light at McLean Avenue- Pitt River Road I have repeatedly brought up the hazardous situation that exists between motorists and pedestrians (the latter will lose every time} at this intersection over the past two years. . Certainly, the Engineering Department is past the stage of "investigating the possibility" of installing a traffic light as was moved at last week's Council meeting. The volume of traffic will enly increase at the intersection due to inconveniences on the Lougheed Highway arising from widening improvements. Attached are some recent comments and resolutions. Monies for this work are also included in the 1974 budget. ~ Council meeting minutes ~ August 6th, 1973 Page 8 - " " J " 20th, 1973 ~ Page 3 - October 1st,1973 ~ Page 2** - April 8th, 1974 Page 13 - May 13th, 1974 Page 12 - June 3rd, 1974 Page 7 **Note: correction to August 20th, 1973 minutes made on October lst, 1973. I move that the materials required for a traffic light be ordered forthwith, and that the necessary engineering be done. Respectfully submitted, Alderman P.F. Ranger. attachments. Note: The correction referred to in Alderman Ranger's report above is not actually a correction of the August 20th, 1973 minutes, but is a change in the Council's decision. R. A. Freeman, City Clerk.
