Moved by Alderman Farnworth: Seconded by Alderman Wright: That Council proclaim the weekend of May 6th and 7th to be "Poco Pride Days" in conjunction with the Pitch—In Campaign, and that this proclamation be advertised in the local newspaper with the cost covered by the Environmental Protection budget. And That tipping fees be waived for all Port Coquitlam residents with the costs of the free disposal to be covered by the City. Carried. From the Environmental Protection Committee, April 7th, 1989 regarding GoV.R.D. Air Quality Monitoring Stations in Port Coquitlam. Moved by Alderman Farnworth: Seconded by Alderman Wright: That Council request the G.V.R.D. to upgrade their seasonal ozone monitoring station located at Sun Valley Park to sample a full range of air quality parameters on a year round basis. Carried. From the City Engineer, April 13th, 1989 regarding Removal of Transformers and Poles near Dominion Pump Station. Moved by Alderman Laking: Seconded by Alderman Stewart: 1. That the City Engineer be authorized to arrange for the removal and disposal of the abandoned transformers and support structures in the vicinity of the Dominion Drainage Pump Station. That the estimated cost of $6,000 for this work be funded from the 1989 Unallocated Public Works Budget. Carried.
