July 12th, 1976 minimum furnishing requirements of the new facility expected to be approximately $50,000.00. The City Administrator suggested that if Council wishes to advance money for this purpose that the funds be drawn from the Tax Sale Land Reserve Account and that any Grants forthcoming in the future be put back into this fund. Moved by Alderman Thompson: Seconded by Alderman Traboulay; That the necessary funds for minimum library furnishings be advanced from the Tax Sele Land Reserve Account as outlined in the report of the City Administrator dated July 9th, 1976. Carried. Prior to passage of the foregoing resolution discussion ensued during which it was noted that as the City was committed to a lease of premises for the new library it was necessary to provide funds for furnishings in order to permit the Opening of the facility. Additionally, it was noted that Mr. Howard Overend, Director of the Fraser Valley Regional Library, had again written to the Library Development Commission on the City's behalf requesting that additional Grants be provided for furnishings at the earliest possible date, but no reply had been received to date. Alderman Laking then proposed the following amendment.
